Naughty..............

Ok I know I haven't blogged in a while. I just have been so busy at work and at home getting ready for the holidays. No excuse though..........shame on me.

Most exciting news is I got a new digital camera and I love it. It's a Canon S3 IS and it takes great pictures. It has so many features, however, I have no idea how to use them so I will be practicing with it a lot in the next few weeks.

I guess I'll turn this into a picture post as I don't have much else to report on.

I love this pic. I was trying out my new camera and he looks like he's praying. So sweet and innocent.

Preston at a birthday party. He loves other kids. "I just got two teeth, now lets take a look at yours"

Who wouldn't want this in their stocking??

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Curious

Preston has become so curious about everything. He is constantly observing and is so intrigued and amused by so many things. It is amazing to watch the world through his eyes. All the new colors and shapes and sounds. It really is true that with your children you see the world with a whole new sense of wonder. Preston loves to look out of the big window at my parents house into the back yard. He sits up on the couch and squeels.............its awesome to hear how excited he gets at everything he sees.

Road Rally

Saturday was the 1st annual Schoelles Road Rally. We had an awesome time. It was a scavenger hunt through the New Phila/Dover area. Happy to report my team came in first. The clues were all movie based and so clever and we laughed so hard at the stories of people trying to figure out the clues. I'll give you an example of one of the questions:

"Brothers don't shake - they hug" - said to this actor - go to the store that shares his real last name and pick up a credit application.

Post your answer in the comments and I'll post the answer in my next post.

We've already begun the talk of next years rally and plan to make it more like Amazing Race where you can pick the clue or do an activity. Regardless it was a blast and we have stories to tell all year.

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Today is Ryan's 27th Birthday. I can't believe how old we are getting! Last night we had his family over for dinner and had a Dairy Queen ice cream cake. Preston's cousin Sophia was over and for the first time he was very interested in her. We laid them on the floor together and he kept putting his hand on her shoulder and trying to hold her hand. It was precious.

Here is a picture of my big boy this morning.........4 months and 1 week old. He's getting so big. He's saying "Happy Birthday Daddy....I love you"

The Wedding

Ok so its been a while since I posted. It's been a crazy couple of weeks. Last week I was in Cleveland for training for work and trying to finish the photo collage video I made for my brother and his new wife Chrissy for their wedding present. It turned out really great....I love working on them they just take a lot of time.

Saturday was the wedding. It was and beautiful and we all had such a wonderful time. Preston got to wear his suit and looked so handsome. He was such a good boy during the ceremony. I was so proud. Here is a picture of our family at the reception.
This morning I took the audit section of the CPA exam. I have been so nervous for it and barely slept last night. It ended up not being as bad as I thought it was going to be. I don't feel totally confident about it but I'm glad I took it and now know what to expect when studying for the other sections.

I'll leave you all with a picture of Preston passed out with his bottle last night. I got a big kick out of it.

Go Quakers!!

Tonight is the big night....the Phila Dover football game. Last night Ryan and I took Preston to his first community pep rally. It was a little loud for his liking and he got scared a few times so we went and sat in the lobby and watched the rest of it from outside of the gym. Ryan went down on the court when they called the old football alumni. There were so many people there.....it really does get you pumped up for the game.

I had a flashback to our high school days. When I was a Q.T. and Ryan was on the football team and the whole week leading up to the game was filled with activities. We had practice every night to get our big dance ready. We all decorated the halls of the high school and Brandi, Angie, and I decorated Ryan's bedroom the night before the game. There was the spaghetti dinner, the snake walk, the bonefire, sneaking over to Dover to yell out the windows of our cars and wave our flags, the sleep overs....so many awesome memories. It makes me miss being in high school but I look forward to sharing those times with Preston when it is his turn.

Here is a picture of Preston with his dad. He is in the Quaker sweatshirt that I made Ryan to tell him I was pregnant. He already adores his dad.

I carried P in the Snugli which I absolutely love. I wish I would have used it more than I have. Preston was so tired by the time it was over. He crashed as soon as I put him in the snugli to take him home.

Sick

Well the flu season has seemed to hit the Rieger household. Preston has had a stuffy nose since about last Thursday and Monday morning I woke up with two clogged ears and a sore throat. Ryan stayed home and took Preston and I to the doctor. I got an antibiotic and she told us that Preston's cold would have to run its course. He loved the doctor's office. Preston sat on my lap and cooed and laughed at the doctor. This cold doesn't seem to bother him. Oh and the big man got weighed, drum roll please.......................17 lbs 15 ozs. Wow, he's a big boy. We laughed when the doctor asked us if he was having trouble eating with the cold:)

ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........

Finally a new bed! Ryan and I have been sleeping on a full-sized matress that used to be my parents so its over 30 years old. Needless to say it is quite worn and sinking in the middle. Yesterday afternoon our brand new queen sized bed arrived. We were both so excited and I got a wonderful night of sleep in it. We still need to get the head board and foot board put on but that will be a project for the weekend.

Last night we had a dinner party at our friends The Hanner's household. Brian was turning 30 and Anne made a wonderful dinner. Their son Jacob, who just turned 1 on saturday, is such a busy man and a reminder of what Preston will be like in less than a year. So funny to see how different little boys are than little girls. Constantly on the go and into everything!!

It's chilly here this morning which meant Mr. Preston had to be buddled up hat and all and he was not pleased. He hates his hat but I think its adorable. I told him to buck up as he was going to be wearing it everyday for the next few months. Does it look like he likes it?

We Have Grass

So we had our yard planted on Sept. 22nd and it is starting to really come in nicely. I can't wait for the spring when we can do the landscaping and Preston will be able to play outside and swing on the swingset. We hope to put a deck in as well. Sunday I did go get two urns to put on the front steps and had them filled with some beautiful mums. Here is a picture of Preston out front with the mums.

Saturday was a big day for the family. We took Preston to get his pictures taken at Sears. He was such a good boy and they turned out great. We were able to have them printed right away so we could take them to Mansfield where we met Great Grandpa and Grandma Klingler for lunch at Friday's. We had to pick up our new bed at Pier 1 and they came to meet us and visit with Preston. Grandma brought some cute outfits for Preston and some from Great Aunt Lori. Thank-you Aunt Lori for the picture collages....they are adorable. After we got home we had a 1st birthday party for our friends son so needless to say once again Preston was run all over the state. He is such a good boy though and just loves being out and about!

The Begining

So here goes..........my first post. I have a few friends who have started using blogs to keep everyone updated on their day to day so I decided to give it a shot. I love checking up on them daily so hopefully all of you will check up on us daily as well. Please, if you find yourself reading this on a daily basis create one yourself. I would love to read about all of you. I know several of my family members are becoming quite the pro's on the computer (Aunt Lori, Jackie). So come on give it a try!
